Sarkozy, ex-leader of France, charged in connection with alleged Libyan funding
Former French President Nicolas Sarkozy was placed under formal investigation and handed preliminary charges over allegations his 2007 presidential campaign received more than $60 million from former Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi.
